Raptor VR - A good start to safer driving
The Raptor VR is the first heavy duty vehicle simulator specifically made for virtual reality. This bad boy will be in full production this spring 2018. It comes with top of the line motion actuators, cpu and graphics and can be adjusted to house any virtual reality system on the market today. This also comes with a means to easily swap out different sized wheels and install left and right joysticks to accomodate almost any heavy duty vehicle. Best of all, you get the best of large extremely expensive machinery without the expense and limitations.
Benefits of VR Simulators
- Faster Experience
- Get more seat time
- Exposure to scenarios you can’t get on demand in the real world. Weather, aggressive driver, distracted driving
- Create muscle memory on the core components (steering wheel, pedals, turn signals)
- Multi student training in the same scenario
- Better Auditing
- The software will track every mistake
- It will identify not just the bad habits but good driving habits for reinforcement
- Cost Reduction
- No equipment wear and tear
- No fuel costs
- No increased training insurance costs
- No additional instructor costs
- More students training on a simulator concurrently
- Smaller footprint
- The Raptor VR takes up space that is many times smaller than a traditional simulator
- For external VR sensors the Raptor VR uses a patent pending technology that attaches to the simulator
- Scalable
- Unlike traditional simulator, the Raptor VR
- Futureproof software/hardware swapping
- Muscle memory is mainly needed for the wheel (or Joysticks), pedals and the turn signal, everything else is virtual. That means when the vehicle controls change over time the simulator is still relevant and does become out dated as all that’s required is a software change
- Multi Actor Training
- More than one student can participate in the same training session in virtual space
- A teacher can hop into the session with a student or simply monitor their point of view them from a desktop

- Reduce Training Risk
- Expensive equipment and accidents can be catastrophic
- Training in a safe environment

VR Control Panel Software
The D5S VR Control Panel software is an easy to use software that allows you to monitor your students progress through thier tutorials. The students are not limited by geography as the simulations can be run on either a desktop or the Raptor VR in the training facility or at home. The software tracks the students progress, collisions or unsafe driving habits as well whether they met each tutorials objectives. All this is calculated in a score displayed to the teacher in real time. Best of all, the teacher can view what the student is seeing or put on a VR headset and jump in the simulation with the student and take the wheel! Its a whole new level for simulation training and realism thats as close to driving the real thing without the risk and cost.
Key Features of our management software

Students may be located at the facility or remotely
Simulations can run on the Raptor or on a desktop at home
Adjustable performance scoring system
Can view or join active simulations on site or remotely
How does Virtual stack up against Reality
Virtual reality can be implented in very real way. Our developers are experts in frame rates, level of detail(LOD), graphic design and perfromance optimization. Making virtual reality work takes a specialized skill set to deliver a high quality functioning 3d environment. But the end results are well worth it. An environment that mimicks the real world and not only gives a student a high level of immersion, but also a familiarization with actual locations.
Technologies D5S is Evaluating for near future releases
Our VR simulating software and the VR Raptor are fully scalable. Meaning as new technologies are developed such as gloves or new headsets, we can easily incorporate them into our software releases and the VR Raptor simulator.

Tacticle Gloves
- Gloves can be used instead of controllers
- Both the hand and fingers are tracked and their interaction with the virtual environment is seamless
- Haptic systems provides you with sensory feedback when you touch something
- Your get another level of muscule memory during simulation training
Advanced VR Headsets
- New headsets are bringing a 200 degree frame of view. The natural eye sees a 210 frame of view
- These headsets have higher resolution, ut to 4k per eye
- Some of these headsets have eye tracking. This allows us a level of detail that increases the level of reality
- Increase bandwidth and refresh rates. As these increase the higher quality resolution that can be pushed through will also increase
